“Bluebonnet Boy” is a contemporary ballet written for full orchestra about trauma stemming from sexual violence and how that can affect the way an individual views the world. Written in four parts, it reflects on societal expectations of homosexual relationships, how closeted homosexuality can lead to sexual frustration/violence, and how this affects victims. It is a study of toxic masculinity, vulnerability, and the emotional turmoil that sexual assault causes a person.
